There is Chinese saying:
“Good medicine tastes bitter but is good for curing sickness,
Good admonition sounds unpleasant, but is good for your life. ”
Our “feel-good” “customer-is-right” culture will have none of that. This shows the folly of relying on subjective evaluation of “customer”, who may not know what is best for them (but they think they do). Sadly, this sort of attitude seems to be also infecting education.
